Why most proposals get sent back on the first pass
The most common reason a research proposal gets returned isn't weak writing — it's a mismatch between the research questions and the proposed methodology, or a conceptual framework that doesn't actually connect to the questions being asked. Committees and funders read proposals looking for internal consistency: does the method logically answer the question, does the framework justify the method, does the significance section follow from the gap identified in the literature.
That alignment is where most of our proposal work happens — not polishing sentences, but making sure every section of the proposal reinforces the others.
